Ingredients

  • Lemons or limes: 2, juiced
  • Cold water: 500 ml
  • Sugar or agave syrup: 2-3 tablespoons
  • Salt (or kala namak): 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin (toasted): 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Fresh mint: a few leaves
  • Ice cubes: a good handful

Instructions

    The Syrup: Mix the lemon juice, sugar and salt in a pitcher. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

    The Hydration: Add the cold water and cumin powder. Stir vigorously.

    The Flavouring: Crush the mint leaves between your hands to release the essential oils. Drop them into the pitcher.

    Serving: Pour into glasses filled with ice cubes.

Tips

The salt helps retain hydration (electrolytes). Cumin aids digestion, perfect after a spicy meal.
